Aloo Posto

Ingredients (3-4 servings)

  • 10-12 baby potato (Boiled and peeled)
  • 4 tbls Poppy seeds (khaskhas)
  • 1largeonions (finely chopped)
  • 3 tbls oil or ghee
  • 3-4 green chilies
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1/4 tsp kalongi (onion seeds)
  • 1/2 tsp jeera


Method (how to make aloo posto)

  • Soak poppy seed in warm water for half hour.
  • Remove the excess water and make fine paste of poppy seeds and green chillies together.
  • Now heat oil in wok add jeera, kalongi and fry few seconds and add chopped onion. fry onion till it turn golden.
  • Now add poppy paste and fry few minuts.
  • Add boiled potato and sugar and salt and mix well
  • Now add 1/2 cup of water and cook on low flame till it get dry.
  • Now aloo posto is ready to serve.
  • Serve hot with rice and chapati.
