Daliya Khichdi or Broken Wheat Khichdi
Ingredients (for 2-3 servings)
1 cup Daliya ( Broken Wheat ) roasted
½
cup yellow moong dal
1 cup chopped vegetables (capsicup, beans, cauliflower,
peas, carrot)
1-2 green chilli Finally chopped
1 large onion finally chopped
2 1/5 cups Water
Oil
or Ghee– 1 tbsp
1 pinch asafoetida
1 tsp Cumin
seeds (jeera)
Salt
to taste
2 tsp Lemon juice
1 tbls chopped
corainder leaves
Method (How to make daliya khichadi)
Wash
and soak moong dal for 10
min.
Heat
ghee in a pan and add cumin seeds when start crackle,
add the chopped onions, heeng and fry till onion turn light brown. Add the chopped vegetables and mix well and keep stirring for 3-4 min on
medium heat.
Add
washed moong dal to it. Mix it well.
Now add roasted daliya, 2 1/5 cup water, and salt, cover
with lid and cook for 10-12 mintues at low heat. Remove from the heat add lemon juice and garnish with
coriander leaves and serve hot.
