Almond Cookies
Ingredients
1 1/2 cups Maida
1/2 cup melted Butter
1/2 cup Almond powder
1 1/2 tsp Baking
powder
3/4 cup sugar (powder)
1/2 tsp Cardamom powder (Elachi)
1/4 tsp Vanilla essence
3 tblsp Milk
a pinch of Salt
few pieces of Almond on top of
cookies (optional)
Method
Mix maida and baking powder and sieve
them at least two times.
Whisk butter and sugar together in
separate bowl.
Now add maida and almonds powder in
the batter and mix properly.
Now add vanilla essence, cardamom
powder, salt and milk and make soft dough by using your hands.
Grease the baking tray with little
oil.
Make smooth small balls and keep it
between your palms and press it with light hands. Fix the half chopped almond
at the center of the cookies and keep it in the tray.
Prepare all cookies in the same manner and place them in
the tray. While placing the cookies in the tray make sure that 2 cookies are kept at a distance as their size increases
on getting baked.
Pre-heat the oven at 180 centigrade. Put the tray into the oven for 15 minutes set at 180 centigrade temperature.
Now check the cookies that it has
turned light brown from the upper surface and dark brown from the corners. This
means your cookies are properly baked. But if this is not the case, then bake
them for another 4-5 minutes.
Take out the tray from the oven and
let the cookies cool down. Store in an airtight container.
