Apple Muffins with streusel topping
Ingredients
- 1 cup maida
- ½ tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¼ cup butter
- ¼ cup white sugar
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 1 egg
- ½ tsp vanilla essence
- ¾ cup chopped apple
- ½ cup grated apple
For topping
- 25 gram butter
- 20 gms maida
- 2 tbsp oats
- 20 gms white sugar
- 55 gram brown sugar
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- A pinch of salt
Method (How to make apple muffins)
- Preheat the oven to 180 degree C.
- Sift the flour with baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- In a large bowl beat together butter, sugar, vanilla essence and egg till smooth.
- Add the chopped and grated apples.
- Add the flour slowly and mix.
- Mix all topping ingredients together.
- Spoon the cake batter to the cupcake liner, sprinkle topping over the top of the muffins.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes or until done.
- Allow to cool for 10 minutes and transfer to wire rack for cool down completely.
