Plain Pulav
Ingredients
1 cup basmati rice
1 cup basmati rice
2 cup hot water
2 small onions (sliced)
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
2 small onions (sliced)
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
3-4 cloves
1/2 tsp Cumin
seeds
2 green cardamom
6-8 Black
pepper
1 inch stick cinnamon
1 green chilly
1 tbsp ghee for frying

1 tbsp ghee for frying
1 tsp lemon juice
Salt to taste
Salt to taste
Method
Wash and soak rice for 30
minutes.
Heat oil or ghee in pan add cumin seeds, and all
whole spices.
Add sliced onions and sauté till golden brown,
green chill, and turmeric powder.
Add the rice and fry for 2-3 minutes.
Finally add the 2 cup hot water and
cook on a slow flame till rice is done.
Add lemon juice and remove
from the heat.
Serve hot with any curry or raita.
